In basecamp, on a bivy or under a lean-to, this jacket provides a rarity in the mountains: immediate gratification. The Puff is soft, featherweight and compressible. It shuns wind and light precipitation, dries quickly, and wears well on its own or under a shell. The front zip is backed by a wind flap and chin guard; the removable hood has snaps hidden under the placket, and the elastic/spandex cuffs and drawcord hem seal out icy air.

Voted 5/5 | I bought this jacket for a all around warmth jacket, belaying, in camp, and if needed around town. I have used it in all forms and it is great, even when wet unlike down. Its not easy to keep a down jacket dry when belaying on ice, but i didnt worry about it. I keep me very toasty and dry. You can also leave the hood at home if need be.. All in all great do it all jacket.. | | Posted Feb 21, 2003 9:52 am | | pksander | Untitled Review
Voted 5/5 | I agree wholly with the two reviews below. This is a great jacket, especially to take along anytime you think cold & rain might be encountered. I recently wore this on a climb (a CO 14'er) in winter conditions because I had left my Gortex shell at a friend's. This thing kept me really warm despite cold (mid teens?) weather and very strong, snowy gusts. | | Posted Nov 28, 2004 11:55 pm | | AltitudeSickness | Pullover Jacket
Voted 5/5 | What a great Christmas present. My wife won the day with this gift. I took this jacket through the paces for the first time in 25 to 30 below zero. Combine the jacket with the Capilene 3 and I was toasty all the time. My core never got cold. Wish I could have this combo for my feet! This product is a winner. The only negative I felt about it was the lack of side pockets for hands. The only pocket is a chest pocket. | | Posted Jan 3, 2008 7:17 pm |
