Nikwax TX.Direct is an easy to use, wash-in or spray-on treatment for most weatherproof gear including Gore-Tex®, Sympatex and eVENT® — in fact anything that is designed to keep the water out and maintain breathability. General Comments
I myself have only used the Nikwax TX.Direct spray on version as the idea of proofing everything on a jacket seems odd to me, so if you have used the wash-in version please add your comments as to its effectiveness. I am on my second heavily used TNF Kichatna jacket (the first was replaced by TNF for wetting out) and every spring it is washed and re-proofed. In my experience TX.Direct has been fine and does restore the water repellency of the jacket, maybe not to it’s original level but certainly to a level which is fine for what I use it for. Images |
