Rock Raptor The most streamlined of our harnesses. The belt is constructed from a flame laminated cordura/eva foam/fleece. The support comes from the tapered webbing, 2 1/4" wide in the back and 1 1/4" in the front. The leg loops can be changed from fixed foam to adjustable webbing.

Its supportiveness is probably due to the tapered webbing. It provides uniform support the whole width of the belt, because of the webbing. Very durable - I have used it for everything from rock, ice, and in the moutains.
All the features you would expect on a harness - full strength belay and haul loop, 4 gear loops, and leg loops that can be dropped in back for the inevitable.
Many harnesses are made by taking a pad of foam and sewing a belt of 1" webbing onto it, right along the center line. The problem with this design is that, when weighted, the foam just bends out of the way, and your 4" swami belt just turned into a 1" one. The Wild Things doesn't suffer from these problems.

Voted 5/5 | Solid harness for the buck. I like the fixed foamed leg loops, easy in and out, expect with crampons on. The thing is of a nice weight and compacts fairly well. | | Posted Dec 10, 2003 5:46 pm |
