Voted 5/5 | I had these boots for 3 years now, and I used them for multi day hiking in difficult terrain with an heavy backpack in any kind of condition.
They performed great, the ankle support is excellent, they did not require a lot to break them in, and they feel very comfortable.

Voted 5/5 | I've had mine for just under 2 years. I've never gotten wet feet. When used with a good pair of gaitors (like (OR Crocodile) they are unbeatable. One minor draw-back the tops above the toe kick scrapes up pretty good in the scree. Voted 5/5 | This is a great boot for long hauls with a heavy pack. The have excellent support and traction. They are also built for a more narrow foot which is a plus for me. | trailmonk | Great all-rounder | | Voted 5/5 | These were my 1st pair of GoreTex boots, I owned 2 pairs of the non-GT Asolo similar to this one. These are on their 4th year of year-around use in Montana. I couldn't imagine a better boot. Great traction in mud, snow, loose dirt, and on rock. They don't feel overly heavy for a full leather boot. Extremely supportive for backpacking off-trail.
I agree the toe leather could use better protection. Maybe some built-in packrat protection as well, that's why I replaced my last pair. :) | | Posted Sep 2, 2009 2:52 pm |
