NanulsGreat piece of kit

Voted 5/5

I got one of these for Christmas and now never go anywhere without it. its an ideal tripod for climbing and mountaineering: small, light and grips to almost anything allowing you to take photos just about anywhere. It also comes in two sizes one small which will hold most cameras and one large which will take SLRs. I can't recommened it enough.

Cascade ScramblerWon't go anywhere without it

I picked one of these up a few months ago and I don't go outdoors without it. As "just" a tripod, it works great. However, it's strength is in the way you can use it- any way you can imagine. It'll grip an ice axe, ice screw, rock, branches- pretty much anything- even bark on an old growth tree. (I've done that a few times.) It's lightweight, compact, and can store anywhere. Pick one up, once you do, you'll be surprised that you didn't get one sooner.

silversummitIt's useful but......

be careful. I love it with my PnS but have read that even the largest one can have problems with DSLRs.

And I have found that sometimes it's helpful to leave the pod attached and legs straight down while I shoot. It makes a good way to steady it and hold it in my hand.
