* Sensitive and precise design is well suited for high level competition climbing on a variety of rock surfaces

* One-piece IRS (Integral Rand System) combines the sole rand and heel to deliver maximum sensitivity and feeling

* IRS wear-dots ensure peak performance, as soles wear thin, dots within the sole appear indicating it's time to replace outsole

* Advanced interior design features a half midsole with anatomic cutaways to deliver a natural, anatomical fit

* High-quality split leather upper is reinforced with Cordura for durability and non-stretch fit; padded mesh tongue for comfort

* ALS (Ankle Lacing System) maximizes fit and control

I really liked my spiders when I got them. They are particularly good on difficult sport routes that are technical and edgy. They are not as sensetive as my current shoes made by MILLET. Nevertheless I think they are very good shoes, the lace up system takes a while compared to the velcro systems of other shoes but it gives a great adjustability.

The Boreal Spider are really good allround climbing shoes for ambitious routes. I have the Spider with the normal lacing, the fit in shoes with a velcro system is not so exactly like i wish.
