Voted 5/5 | This is one of the first quailty climbing movies.I think it is a positive step in thee right direction,as far as getting people exposed to our passion. It is my second favorite climbing movie. Touching the void is my favorite because I am an alpine climber, not an expeditionist. | | Posted Oct 26, 2005 1:44 pm | | m2rainier | Untitled Review
Voted 4/5 | This movie is a made for TV movie about the Everest Disaster of 1996. It follows the accounting of the book written by Jon Krakauer. It was well done, with actors you will recognize and only occasionally has that made for TV feel to it. I would like to see the story done again for theaters and with a larger budget, but this is a good movie of a compelling story. | | Posted Oct 26, 2005 5:30 am | | rayray | Very moving story
Voted 5/5 | This is an excellent movie that tells the tragic story of the human struggle and loss on Everest in 1996. Highly recommend reading the book first though. | | Posted May 31, 2007 12:49 am | | noahs213 | Pretty Good
Hasn't voted | This movie was ok but as mentioned was meant for T.V. Would not reccomend getting this. Wasn't that good but it tells a moving story. | | Posted Jul 3, 2007 10:27 am | | Winter8000m | Good Video
Hasn't voted | I thought this video was a good summary of the book. you can tell they were on a budget but did a good job. | | Posted Dec 1, 2007 6:45 pm | | silversummit | While well done I didn't
Hasn't voted | like the narration; seemed so heavy-handed. I'm a big fan of anything mountaineering in print or in film but this movie always bothers me. Yes, this story is serious and yes, the result was catastrophic but I really wish the viewer had been left to just watch and listen to simple conversations sometimes. Definitely liked Krakauer's book better than the made for TV film. | | Posted Feb 1, 2009 12:05 pm | | asaking11 | Good Movie.
Voted 5/5 | I really liked this movie, it does a good job at retelling the story of the 96' disaster on Everest. | | Posted Jun 28, 2009 2:56 pm |
