Voted 5/5

The sole is flexible enough to be comfortable to hike in, but stiff enough that they edge well on easy 5th class stuff. Also, the first inch and a half or so of the sole at the front of the boot is flat - no tread - so you can smear really well on it. I just tagged a couple of peaks in the Desolation Wilderness and I did not find myself slipping on my off trail scrambling. The rubber rand on the boots is C4. I like them.

My only complaint is that after about 4 hours of hiking with a pack on I will start getting hot spots under both of my big toes. I dont know if that is a problem with the boot or part of the game because I like to move fast and I dont like stopping to rest.
