These are nice boots. I got heel blisters before I learned to tighten them adequately, but since then (two hiking seasons ago) I have not gotten a single blister. In terms of beefiness, I put this boot somewhere between the ultralight boots and a steel-shanked mountaineering boot. Good for packing heavy loads over decent trails.

Hmm, I don't know what else to say. These boots do not take step-in crampons, but they performed adequately with strap-on crampons on moderate slopes.

This is the second pair of Vasque boots I've owned, and I (and my feet) have been very happy with both.

Before I bought my MX2s I went through 3 different pairs of hiking boots. I decided on the MX2 after trying my husband's original Sundowners on and discovering that the fit would work for me (yeah, yeah...I have big feet for a girl) But my biggest problem is that I have narrow feet and long toes. As a result most hiking boots do not fit very well. Snug the MX2 down and you can wear them all day. Although they are available in nubuck, I chose the regular leather (my previous boot was nubuck and looked pretty bad, nicks, gouges, etc, after about 2 trips). Some people choose the nubuck because they feel the break in period is quicker. Another feature I really like is the high ankle support. Several lead falls have made my ankles a bit weak. I really appreciate the good support this boot provides. Finally, the sole is nice and aggresive and gives you plenty of help on the occassional boulder hop. Overall, a wonderful boot.

I've just purchased these boots not more than 2 weeks ago and I love them. I've done 4 forteeners in them already and I haven't gotten one blister! I previosly used Asolo's GTX 520 and couldn't go on a 3 mile walk without getting blisters. The only thing I wish they had were Vibram soles, though I haven't had any dislikes to the skywalk soles.

I love these boots. They're very comfortable and fit very well. They're almost as nimble as sneakers for class-3 and 4 scrambling. They also work well in winter as long as it's not too terribly cold.

I had a pair of old Sundowners a long time ago and loved them. I wore them out. Unfortunately for me, I assumed these new ones would be just as comfortable before I went to Kilimanjaro. I did break them in somewhat but I still ended up with hamburger feet. I used them after Kili several times and each time I got rediculous blisters. I ended up throwing them away.
