Working outside year 'round and also mountaineering can be particularly hard on your feet if you don't have the proper footwear and socks. The Arctic Boot Sock is the heaviest, most cushiony sock I've found.

Made mostly from wool these socks can still be machine washed and dryed with no shrinkage. The inside of the sock is a "Terry" knit which adds thickness and long lasting comfort for the foot.

Carhartt socks are readily available at most work-clothes stores.
