On a recent day with temps in the high-teens/low- 20's (f), I started a pitch with these and had to stop, tie off, and switch to a warmer set of back-up gloves. My fingers were freezing solid in the Ice Floes. So, for those warm, sunny days when you need max dexterity to push yourself on a hard climb, these might be just the ticket. Voted 4/5 | When I started climbing leashless I could not believe how pumped I got. Then I started wearing thinner gloves (after trying it using BD Ice gloves). This seemed to help the situation a lot.
These fit me pretty decently in size Large. Definitely try before you buy. They will stretch a bit after use.
On a typical day I tend to bring several pairs and rotate them, keeping the ones I'm not wearing inside my jacket to keep them warm. They aren't waterproof, but using Nikwax Tx Direct spray-on treatment helps with water-resistance. | | Posted Jan 23, 2007 6:23 am |
