Its chapters cover the orientation and layout of the range, a discussion of the Continental Divide, Geology, the Highline Trail, Vegetation, Wildlife, History, and Wilderness Values.
While it is not geared towards climbers, this book does point out the places where climbers spend the most time. As in the Bonney book (linked above), stunning photography plays a big part of making this book an interesting read. The chapter on the Highline Trail thoroughly describes one of the major north-south trails of the range, and the chapter on history has accounts of many of the early explorers of the region. The chapter on wildlife is a little outdated; in the late 1980's, grizzly bears were not really found in the range, but they have since increased in numbers and can be found there.Product DetailsPaperback: 104 pages

Hasn't voted | This book's biggest strength is its superb photography, and it makes an excellent coffee table book. It is not really a climbing resource, but it is a good reference in terms of understanding the layout of the range.
