WasatchvoyageOne of the best.

This jacket has accompanied me on more routes and peaks than other's I've owned due to it's simple form and durability. The Apex material works really well in inclement weather, shedding off moisture about as effectively as most dedicated rain gear would, yet still allowing ventilation throughout. Hands down one of the best jackets available for most conditions out there.

I have 2 Northface Apex jackets and they're by far my favorite winter BC ski and touring jackets. Breathability is excellent and they shed snow and light moisture very well. I have a lighter Apex that I use as a mid layer, and it doubles as an outer during heavy exertion. The Apex jacket material is extremely light, tuff, packable, and dries quickly.

So wind proof. Put this under a shell and you will have no worries with the wind and cold..
