Stemming a Devil's Tower testpiece is no problem thanks to the infusion of a small measure of spandex in our Regulator R1 Pants. They offer a degree of stretch for enhanced mobility, improved next-to-skin performance and a more athletic fit (similar to a loose tight). A smooth jersey face allows the pants to slide over or under other layers without friction. Highly breathable, fast-drying, compressible insulation, they also offer minimal weight and bulk. Two zippered handwarmer pockets.

Voted 3/5 | These are really nice insulating pants. Equivalent in weight to 200 fleece. Their construction of "bumps" on the inside face keeps the fabric away from you legs allowing them to breathe really well. I use these as my insulating layer on almost all trips. My 300 weight fleece pants have only been used twice, when it was well below zero.
These do not deserve 5 stars, because I think they are overpriced at $80. | | Posted Dec 17, 2002 5:00 pm | | bigwally | Untitled Review | |
Voted 3/5 | Scored a pair of these at half price ($40). They are OK but really nothing special. They could be thicker ; I always end up wearing tights underneath them. They could be more durable ; even though I have me shell pants over them most of the time the R1's are wearing and growing holes. As reliable and efficient clothing goes...well they are nothing special.....but Patagonia prices them as if they were. | | Posted Jan 26, 2003 5:19 pm |
