Voted 5/5 | A great hooded base to mid layer for active pursuits in cold temperatures. | | Posted Nov 9, 2008 5:24 pm | | Bill Kerr | Great Winter Base layer
Voted 5/5 | Grab one of these for winter base layer. Like the stretchy material, breathability, thumb holes and the overall fit. The hood allows easy temp regulation and fits nicely under a helmet. | | Posted Jan 7, 2009 10:45 pm | | Isaiah | Supershirt!
Voted 5/5 | The first day I wore this at the Mt. Washington Ice Fest in February there were three of us trying to check out gear in the same line wearing the same shirt. I've worn it ice climbing, cycling, hiking, skiing, around my apartment... It's fantastic with the offset zipper on the facemask, the thumb holes, the hoody, and it breathes like I'm not even wearing a shirt! I'll be wearing this on Gasherbrum 2 this summer. If only they made an R2 or an insulated softshell version as well. | | Posted Mar 9, 2009 10:35 pm | | JB99 | All year round...
Voted 5/5 | This layer is the only one that comes with me year round. Throughout Colorado winters it makes a great mid-layer and the balaclava style hood means one less thing I need to remember to pack. Throughout summer I bring it as my insulating layer for 14er climbs and throw it on when the weather gets bad or the wind picks up. It's comfortable to wear in a pretty wide range of temps too. When you need to put it away it rolls up nicely into it's own hood. In fall and spring a light t-shirt and my R1 is usually all that I'll need to wear when I'm moving. It's a wonder to me why there aren't more options like this out there. It's my favorite layering piece by far. | | Posted Oct 9, 2009 3:54 am | | MRoyer4 | Favorite piece of clothing
Voted 5/5 | This is hands down my favorite piece of clothing for the alpine environment. I don't head out for a climb without it. | | Posted Oct 28, 2009 8:58 pm | | climbxclimb | Great base to mid layer
Voted 5/5 | I love this jacket, I use it as base layer under an heavier fleece jacket and it works perfectly in cold weather.
I love the hood/balaclava, and since I wear this I do not need to wear a hut.., | | Posted Jan 27, 2010 5:00 pm |
