Review

Organized around seasons rather than location or elevation, this color guidebook offers a sampling of forty-two (42) select snow climbs in Colorado. Includes a brief trail description, small topo, and a few photos for each route.

Certainly not all inclusive of the many fine snow routes the state of Colorado has to offer; but, I find this guide to be well-organized and exceptionally useful in choosing a suitable snow route for the current season. The brief route descriptions are reader friendly, and the recommended gear section is helpful in determining a comfort level prior to getting on the mountain. I would recommend this guidebook for anyone interested in exploring some of Colorodo's fine snow routes.

Vital Statistics for each route:
  • Elevation Gain
  • Round-Trip Distance
  • Starting Elevation
  • Highest Elevation
  • Best Months to Climb
  • Difficulty
  • Gear
  • Map

A Few of the Included Routes:
  • Atlantic Peak, West Ridge
  • Fletcher Mt, via Drift Peak
  • Grizzly Peak
  • Byers Peak
  • North Star Mt, East Ridge
  • Mount Bancroft, East Ridge
