Now you see it, now you don't … just like the sun on blustery days. Our ultralight, ultrapackable Houdini can shed fickle weather – and disappear when the skies clear. Then again, it's breathable enough to keep on as you crank through the next squall. The textured triple-ripstop nylon proves surprisingly tough, while a Deluge® DWR (durable water repellent) finish wards off flurries six pitches from the deck. The Houdini has a drawcord hem and stuffs into its own chest pocket (with a carabiner clip-in loop).

Voted 5/5 | I have used a Houdini jacket for two years now in all four seasons including 60 mph winds and down to minus 25 degrees while backcounty skiing. It is very breathable for the climb or ski up and yet it provide excellant wind protection. The hood is very useful as a quick way to regulate temperature which makes the Houdini better than a windshirt. I did renew the DWR with a wash in treatment after one season. The jacket may seem flimsy but I highly recommend it. You will find it useful for many situations and will not notice it in your pack. | | Posted Jun 4, 2008 10:20 pm |
