Fossana's Biased Opinion

Firstly, I will say that in general I'm not a huge fan of classroom learning for the backcountry or guiding services. I've used these people twice, once for a backcountry festival and once for their Glacier Travel and Crevasse Rescue class, although quite a few years back (the last in 2003). Both times I stayed in the BaseCamp lodge. The crew was knowledgeable and experienced, the classes were useful, and the backcountry festival was a blast (OK, so maybe my opinion was slightly skewed by the fact I won a windstopper fleece jacket in the raffle). The setting is nice b/c you're away from the Tahoe scene. Accommodations were reasonable as well.
