The REI Evolution harness is made with high quality 1/4" foam laminated to a durable 500-denier Cordura(R) nylon exterior and lined with soft nylon tricot for comfort. It is formed to be wider in the back of the legs and waist to give support and it is tapered in front for mobility. The leg loops are auto-adjusting and feature a 3" elastic band for a comfortable and customized fit. There are two rear keeper straps featuring quick-release buckles that can be easily unbuckled for adjustment or to answer the call of nature. The REI Evolution harness also includes four rigid gear loops for on-harness racking plus a dedicated belay loop and rear haul loop.

I'm generally a big fan of REI gear. I have usually found it to be of very high quality at a very reasonable price. The Evolution is no exception. I have used it in a variety of settings, on mountains, hang dogging on sport routes, and on longer trad routes, and it has performed very well. I found it to be relatively comfortable for hang-dogging and rapelling, and the adjustable leg loops are a plus when you want to put it on over winter gear. In short, a great harness at a great price.
