Reviews | aziegler | Mammut incorrect size info | | Hasn't voted | I ordered one of these online after trying on a Mammut Mirage and Vision at a local shop to check waist/leg sizing, only to find when the harness arrived that the Alpine Light waistbelt was four inches smaller than the waistbelts of the other two Mammut models of the same size! The harness packaging implies that all Mammut harnesses use the same waist and leg size dimensions. Additionally the current (July 08) Mammut site information on the sizing of the Alpine light presently lists the harness as "one size fits all", but if you try to order it from the same site you have to pick a size! I'm in contact with a US company rep to get an exchange due to this misinfo, but this all seems a bit weird. | | Posted Jul 25, 2008 2:15 pm | | | delmarco | Re: Mammut incorrect size info | |
Voted 5/5 | So true. For all three Mammut Harnesses (Focus, Mirage & Baffin) I've owned over the years the fit were way off. For some reason the USA versions are wrongly sized. So wrong in fact that a Small can be a Large in one instance and a Medium can be an XL in another.
I did notice that Mammut now as of Fall 2008 has a USA Specific website up which you can order gear directly from and call in with sizing questions.
So being one of the better, more available, companies for customer service Mammut have a handle on the sizing problem. | | Posted Nov 22, 2008 1:16 pm |
