Product DescriptionEvery year you sailed down to be Marjorie Merriweather Post’s guest at her little 115-room Palm Beach retreat.
(You’d met her on board the Sea Cloud in Monte Carlo, remember?)
You obligingly fed cold lobster salad to heiresses at the Everglades Club, took strolls down Worth Avenue, sipped tea in the garden of the Breakers until the wind picked up around 4:30 p.m.
Nothing could stop you then from taking your Herrschoff sloop out for a quick run; only a promise to be back for cocktails would subdue the chorus of protest.
Patagonia Winter Guide Pant, from the pre-fiberglass, pre-poly days. Substantial DWR Deluge fabric. Well-constructed pockets to conceal bent bulldog pipe and pouch of Cavendish. The material protects a person from chill breezes and bad advice.
They used to say you looked like Rudy Vallee; either Rudy Vallee, or maybe Don Ameche.

Voted 5/5 | built well to last. Soft outer sheds water and the material isn't abrasive at all. The interior is lined with a thin fleece to add warmth and insulate against the cold. The pockets are really strong/durable and weather resistant. The zippers on the pockets and leg cuffs work well and zip smoothly. I like the suspenders which are very lightweight. A great all around winter pant that's not too bulky.
I stayed warm and dry during an ice climbing sesh in a heavy snowfall under overhanging ice that was dripping like mad! | | Posted Dec 19, 2007 3:16 pm |
