Product Description

With a fold-out hook to pull cord through a V-Thread (Abalakov) anchor, the Grivel Candela is an important piece of gear for getting off ice climbs. It even has a retractable blade to cut sling material when your anchor is complete. It is also made of soft plastic so you can use it to clean ice out of a screw without scratching the inside.

My Opinion

Not the greatest thing ever invented, it is nice to have the soft plastic to clean the screws, but this is by no means a hardy tool and will break easily if you have it clipped on your harness. Get's the job done, but a little pricy for what you get.

"A hundred and forty million years ago a creature struggled to escape the hostile horizontal world. It became lean and strong and developed into a magnificent climber. Then, driven by sucess and the gear of evolution, it developed the feather. For the father of the modern bird, downclimbing had become a thing of the past."   --Arc'teryx Creedo
