Product Description

From Black Diamond:
"This ski wants to turn. Its sidecut and flex are optimized for quick carving and forceful arcs in consolidated snow. While the dimensions could be termed “classic,” the construction, including torsionally charged Dual Torsion Bow technology with integrated 3D dampning, transmits exceptional power from the body to the turn and holds rock solid at eye-watering speeds. Designed as a high-performance turner, the Machine excels in hard-carving tight and technical lines."

Skiing Magazine:
"BD breaks its line into two categories: Power and Efficiency. The machine definitely likes the former. Stable at high speeds, this resort-worthy carver will track through bumps, crud, corn, and chop. Gripes: Too demanding for powder. Props: 'Rockets with landing gear,' touted one tester."

Backcountry Magazine:
"It's a lean Machine, relatively speaking, the narrowest of BD's new 'torsionally charged' freeride skis and one designed for carving. Western skiers, starting the day on bulletproof, were big fans: 'Put it on edge and ride the rails. Very confidence-inspiring, especially at speed.' 'Great stability in all conditions. Lightning fast transfer. Advanced all-mountain ski.' But as the snow softened, tester scores went down. Eastern skiers had mixed responses, centering on the need for and experienced driver while acknowledging the skis' stick and hold. 'Allows for quick, painless turn transition...shifting gears is a breeze. But you need to be firing on all cylinders to truly tap into the power.' A woman skiing the 166cm length suggested that, 'smaller skiers can't be passive. Have to work the ski a lot to get the most out of it.'"
