Product DescriptionNote that these differ from the Salomon XA Pro 3D shoes in that they lack Gore-tex.
 Salomon XA Pro 3D's |
These shoes are meants as trail runners, and adventure racing shoes, where one may have to move between wet and dry environments, without the shoes being dedicated wet/amphibian shoes.
These shoes utilize kevlar laces and a rolling lock, which makes them very easy and convenient to put on and take off. A bonus of this system is that they're easier to put on when you've got numb hands or fingers, and very quick to remove, such as when canyoneering or are around water in the colder times of the year.
These shoes dry out quickly since they lack the Gore-tex of the XCR.
Salomon Page for XA Pro 3D'sFeatures-Kevlar Lacing System - Very quick and convenient
-Stash pocket on top of tongue for laces when tightened (smart)
-Carbon fibre-looking soles (gotta count for something... drifting?)
-Mesh makes for quick drying.Personal Notes-Please note that if your dogs chew through the kevlar laces (as mine did) or they are otherwise cut and destroyed, you can pick up a replacement set from some online retailers (will add link when I find it again).
-I do not advise wearing these in dry, sandy environments, with or without gaiter, as they use mesh heavilly in their design. Sand gets into these shoes in massive quantities in the desert and at the beach. Images |

Voted 5/5 | Badass shoes. Best pair I've ever owned. This is primarilly due to the lacing system, which is very quick to use, and easy to stash (tongue pocket). Put many hundreds of miles on them hiking in the mountains, and wore them for 9 months of work, when I had to run 10 miles most days in order to get to and from work. That in light, fantastic shoes. Really bad shoes for anyone in sandy areas!!!! :-) 5 outta 5! | | Posted Oct 12, 2007 7:37 am | | grunt | Great shoes | |
Voted 4/5 | I really like my pair, although I wouldn't rank them my all-time favorite. They are stable, light, and comfortable. I've worn them casually, hiking, and running. I find they are a little narrow on my feet.
Like TacoDelRio said, don't wear them in sandy areas, they fill up fast. | | Posted Dec 19, 2007 4:51 pm |
