"Backpacker April '07 says, ''Gourmets will be impressed by its delicate simmer, which can handle the most finicky Alfredo sauce.''. Better heat retention than standard stove-and-pot arrangements saves fuel and reduces boiling times. Boil faster and use less fuel on your next alpine adventure with this extremely efficient and versatile stove. Frying pan, 2.1 liter EtaPower pot, wind shield, pot grip and insulated storage bag included. Fuel sold separately. Low-profile design provides excellent stability. Piezo igniter sparks the stove to life with a push of a button, eliminating worries about wet matches or burning your hand. Preheating coil reduces energy consumption and improves performance in extreme cold. Removing the wind shield creates space for the frying pan, so you're not limited to just boiling water. Utilizing a wind shield and EtaPower pot with built-in heat exchanger, you'll be enjoying a liter of boiling water in just 2.5 minutes."
From CampSaver.com:
"EtaPower is the new, highly effective fuel-efficient stove from PRIMUS. The stove's high efficiency rate is achieved by a lower windshield that protects the flame from wind and a heat exchanger on the bottom of the pot which traps heat and distributes it evenly. This unique design allows for fast boiling times, less fuel consumption, a lower total weight, and all in all a more environmentally friendly stove. The stove comes with a burner stand, a windscreen, and a 2.1 l EtaPower pot with heat exchanger. Other accessories that come with the EtaPower stove include a frying pan, a handle, and a bag that can even be used to insulate the pot."

Voted 5/5 | I have the EF model (isobutane canisters) for about a year now. It's 2.1 liter pot with frying-pan lid is perfect for melting snow. It sits flat, low and very stable. It had the fastest boil time of any stove at the time I purchased it (may still be). The heat-exchanger (like jetboil) makes it possible. The only cons are that the windscreen can not be used with the frying pan and the overall bulk of the case (8" Dia x 5").
The Primus EtaPower is ideal as a shared stove. I've used it in the ice and snow from Harwood to Rainier. The Piezo igniter needs minor servicing by tightening the mounting screw. Other than that it's bomber and allows nice fine-tuning of the flame.
The new MF (Multi-Fuel) model is out now and I would recommend looking into puchasing this model because it uses both isobutane canisters and white-gas. | | Posted Jul 21, 2008 5:24 pm | | norm79 | EtaPower EF | |
Voted 5/5 | I bought this stove on an impulse as it was in a sale. This proved to be an excellent purchase.
The first proper test was a recent trip to Sweden and Norway. Despite the pack size being quite large, I found you can stuff the set with other bits to use up some of the empty space (you can fit a 250gram canister in too). The stove is super-fast and very efficient - 1.5 x 250gram canisters lasted 15 days (2 meals a day, plus hot water). Its very stable and easy to use; you can place the gas canister off the ground for better insulation, or turn it upside down to use the last dregs of gas without loosing too much pressure.
I can't think of any downsides (other than the pack size, which you can get around).
I considered the MF version, but it was £40 more expensive and more bulky...
