Canadian Mountaineering Message Board Centre

We loosely administer the message board so people can share stories, route info, and generally gab about mountaineering (along with the occasional BS). Personal time and money go into keeping this Web site going.

If you would like to help sustain the Web site, please consider making a small donation. Anything in excess of the Web domain and hosting fees (about $150 CDN) will be collected and donated to a mountaineering organization/project at year end (ie. Canadian Avalanche Association).

Dow WilliamsLocal Beta Site...

Voted 3/5

Live-the-vision.com is a real local site for the Canadian Rockies. A good place to find partners from out of country looking for folks to climb with. Great sourse for conditions for alpine and ice as well. Good for lost gear. Good for beta questions as well. Quite a few real experienced climbers watch the site and answer questions. Outside of the message board, these guys have had a hard time getting much done, mostly due to hackers past. Someday it might catch on.

""You cannot stay on the summit forever; you have to come down again. So why bother in the first place? Just this: What is above knows what is below, but what is below does not know what is above. One climbs, one sees. One descends, one sees no longer, but one has seen. There is an art of conducting oneself in the lower regions by the memory of what one saw higher up. When one can no longer see, one can at least still know.""   --Rene Daumal
