Reviews | squirrellybuck | Untitled Review | | Voted 4/5 | I actually have a much older version of this pack, and I am glad for that. My pack does not have the crampon bag or the extra flap. Its the stripped down deal.
The inserted bivy pad is great for cold belays and to add to a 3/4 sleeping pad.
The belt is nice to when wearing over your Harness as it has no padding to get in the way.
The hydration pack is great if you use the pack for overnight backpacking trips but when you actually loaded it to go to the crag, the pressure makes it impractical. It leaks ...
I have had this bag for about 4 years and it has served me well. I am not a big fan of Lowe Alpine. I have found their gear to be less than hearty, but this pack has proved me wrong.
I have used this pack a a grag bag, for 2-3 night super light backpacking, as well as a summit bag and it has served me well. I have also found in conjunction with the hydration pack that it rides quite well as a long distance trail running bag.
I haven't used the newer version, but if it is anything like mine, it would be a great purchase. JUST PULL THE BLADDER OUT BEFORE YOU CLIMB WITH IT!
