When I was shopping for packs I tried a lot of them on. It came down between Gregory and Osprey and Osprey won hands down. I regularaly train with 50+lbs in this pack and have had no problems with hot spots on my hips and it handles the load quite well. The sleeping bag compartment is handy as is the top accessory bag that can be made into a hip bag. This pack is rugged and will be put to good use for many seasons.

Seemed like everyone was telling me to get a Osprey. I'm glad I did, I love this pack. Perfect size for a really comfortable weekend in Desolation Wilderness and light weight. Three out of our hiking group purchased this pack in 2007 and one of them had rips in the fabric after only one summer of hard use (but he abuses gear very well).

Great pack! One can do so much with it. It is light enough to use for a day hike, and the compression straps shrink it down to nothing, and yet fully expanded it can hold load of gear and support lots of weight. Good for just backpacking, and strong enough to handle cams, axes and abuse.
