This is a super lens and great value for money. The lens has an excellent zoom range, very sharp, quite light and does not take up to much room in your pack. I have the ED version of this lense which costs a bit more. The G version of this lense will not work on manual camera bodys. I have a manual FM2n which this lens will not work with so i had to get the ED version. The ED version uses a different glass element so the ED version might be a bit sharper.

I have also used the ED version of this lens. Compact, sharp, works well in a good range of weather conditions. For my money Nikon works better in the mountains than Canon, not that there is anything wrong with Canon equipment. Just a personal preference.

I like it, but it's not good for anything dim or dark.
