The lens has an excellent zoom range, very sharp, quite light and does not take up to much room in your pack. I have the ED version of this lense which costs a bit more. The G version of this lense will not work on manual camera bodys. I have a manual FM2n which this lens will not work with so i had to get the ED version. Hasn't voted | I have also used the ED version of this lens. Compact, sharp, works well in a good range of weather conditions.
