Voted 5/5 | The first zoom lens I ever owned....back with my old Canon AE-1 Program. Looking back at it, I didn't fully understand the usefulness of this lens, as I wasn't into mountaineering then...however, I was a major photography buff at the time, so comparing the Tokina AT-X lenses to this one was like comparing a 911 Turbo to a Mustang. For only $119 (current price....11 years ago I think I paid like $80), you can get a 70-210mm fully manual lens that's under a pound. Granted, it's not the fastest lens in the world, but at that price and weight, it's a hard combination to really beat. Photo quality is quite acceptable, and it uses a 52mm filter, which is a very inexpensive size to get. Focusing and zoom are very smooth.
