Gear Notes This jacket combines the lightness and compressibility of down with the windproofness and moisture resistance of W.L. Gore’s DryLoft® fabric to make a warm and weatherproof garment for severe conditions. The goose down is sewn into tunnels in the lining, and no quilt lines penetrate the outer shell to admit wind or water. The cut is roomy enough to layer over other insulation, while the below-the-hip length insulates nearly the full torso. W. L. Gore’s DryLoft stops wind penetration and prevents heat loss, and its extreme breathability minimizes the accumulation of coldness-causing perspiration within the garment. While it is not waterproof, DryLoft is water-resistant and will protect against dampness and light precipitation. Down is unmatched by any other insulation - natural or synthetic - for its lightness, compactability, and durability. Down is also unbeaten in the way it moulds itself softly to your body to fill in coldness-causing voids, and absorbs transpired moisture to increase your comfort. It performs best in cold, dry conditions.
Filled with 360g (in size medium) of 550 fill-power goose down. Water-resistant DryLoft shell protects against dampness and light precipitation, and is extremely breathable. Below-the-hip length insulates nearly the full torso. Articulated arms for ease of movement. Detachable hood with stiffened brim. Two zippered handwarmer pockets. Waist and hem drawcords seal in warmth. Made in Canada, fabric from USA. |

Voted 5/5 | You can’t beat this for the price. For warmth it is as good and any of your pricier Parkas (Mountain Hardware, North Face). Very warm, fairly lightweight and durable. Zippers preform well. Have used mine to up to 23,000 feet several times with no complaints. For a dowm parka breathes fairly well. | | Posted Mar 27, 2002 8:03 am |
