Voted 4/5 | I am looking at this jacket. Here is additional info from Marmot. I asked what was the difference between the Plasma and this jacket. Specifically, why was this heavier.
"The 8000 Meter Parka is the most burly of our down jackets. Most people
use this when they are summating a climb. It has a 2 layer Gore-Tex
shell to make the fabric waterproof and wind resistant. ( this accounts
for some of the weight ). This piece has 800+ fill power goose down. (

It's what I said when I opened the box in which this jacket was shipped to me.
I was impressed right away with the loft of this garment , even after being compressed for several days in the box. Another surprise was the amount of loft and down in the vital areas, chest and back, creating a great heat barrier for the core.
It has a powder skirt and easy to access pockets. The hood is nice and can accomodate a helmet should you choose to wear one with this jacket on.
One negative, if it can be called that, is the massive size of this jacket and the storage bag.
