The Contour is a ultralight trekking pole, weighing a scant 526 grams (1 lb 2 oz) per pair. Utilizing a corrective angle of 15º, a comfortable, non-slip foam grip with lower extension and padded webbing, the Contour offers high performance with a comfortable feel. The “Zero-Slip” FlickLock and simplistically solid Binary adjustments offer a usable adjustment range of 37 centimeters. The Contour is an excellent long distance or technical approach pole when weight is crucial.

Voted 4/5 | These Poles have worked great for me except for one complaint. The binary locking system the lower pole section uses is very very hard to collapse when its cold out. I find I have to push very hard on it, meaning I have to take my gloves off and get cold hands. Other than that, they work like a charm. Get the snow baskets for winter use. | | Posted Feb 2, 2007 5:00 pm | | Alpendave | What a difference! | |
Voted 5/5 | One problem I used to have to deal with all the time with other brands' poles was that the twisting motion from regular use would loosen them up and then they would collapse on me. Then, over time, trying to adjust them became quite tricky as I would get it the right length and then they wouldn't tighten.
Anyway, I got these poles with the FlickLock system and have been happy ever since. I concur that the bottom adjustment can be difficult at times, but the overall improvement I've experienced from switching to these from the others (Lekki, REI, and some other company I can't remember) is such that I can't help but give these a 5/5 rating. | | Posted Feb 28, 2007 7:19 pm |
