Voted 4/5 | My X-mas gift and I have not taken them out on the trail yet. I will update this review as I use them. So far the only complaint is the the gater loop is too small for my OR Gaiters. After 2 hikes: The soles do not grip very well on wet rock. The lack of grip almost caused a fall over a small cliff on Culver Ridge while traversing.(-1 star) No blisters yet.
after 2 season of mild use i cant complain....for the price they work great...they work well with my petzel crampons my feet never get cold in them | | Posted Jan 2, 2006 6:45 pm | | The Defiant One | Not Great | |
Voted 2/5 | I got these for super-super-cheap at TNF Outlet. I wish i hadn't.
As Rob mentions, the soles don't grip well at all. They're not meaty. The boots are very warm, however.
My biggest problem with them is that they come up very high but don't flex properly, feels a bit like walking in ski-boots. I never got a blister on my feet with these, but they started to rub my ankles and shins. Being so warm, my feet also sweat which exacerbated the rubbing.
I've decided that i can only use them for snow-shoeing, which they work OK for.
I had to get 1/2 size larger than other shoes because of TNF's notoriously small sizing.
I wear a size 13, and they fit my Atlas 1230 snowshoes.
bottom line: try 'em on before you buy them, but try something else on too | | Posted May 11, 2007 12:15 pm |
