Ortlieb mattresses are made from a special grade of open cell foam and a patented fabric which is not only more abrasion-resistant and anti-slip than other mattress fabrics, but also more puncture-resistant. The fabric, and therefore the complete mattress, is of course waterproof. The insulation filling of the mattresses is an environmentally friendly produced open cell polyurethane foam which is fold-resistant and has very high insulation characteristics.

- Anti-slip surface on both sides
- Puncture and abrasion-resistant surface
- Patented fabric is extremely elastic
- Water-repellent surface
- Environmentally friendly

Voted 4/5

Stands to its boasting of abrasion/puncture resistant fabric. I have had my ice axe stab into a couple of times and have yet to see a hole. Good winter pad, durable but heavier than I particularly like.
