The Voile Telepro is a great backcounty workhorse shovel. The compacted length of 18 inches allows for easy stowing on a pack while the extended 32.5 inches gives great leverage for moving lots of snow. The big D handle also makes it easier to use the shovel for extended periods and allows for better control with heavy loads.
The large, tempered aluminum scoop is strong enough to handle hard compacted snow and large enough to move lots of powder. There are also holes in the blade so that it can be used as an emergency deadman anchor.
The lightweight aluminum handle telescopes from 18 inches for storage to 32.5 inches for moving snow.

Voted 5/5 | This is an awesome shovel that I've used in varied conditions from heavy wet cascade snow to fine powdery Colorado snow.
The D handle is more comfortable than other T handle shovels and makes it easier to use for extended periods of time.

Voiles are simple good and solid allround shovels - good weight, very solid, and dig pits really well;

Hasn't voted | I choose this metal shovel with a long handle after reading some stories about rescue attempts gone horribly wrong because of inadequate shovels. It's a little heavier than some of the smaller plastic shovels but if I'm using it to dig out a friend I think I'll be glad I brought the best.
