The North Face Chilkats are a warm and insulated winter boot you'll think was sent from the hand of the almighty. If you buy only one boot for this winter the indomitable Chilkat should be it. The North Face Winter Grip rubber outsole will help prevent embarrassing diggers, and double adhesive latex with seam sealed construction will keep the elements out of your boots. A gaiter compatible D-ring further ensures that the snow stays where it belongs, outta your boot. The Chilkat fits comfortably with an anatomically-engineered design. An injection-molded shank plate provides extra support and stability as you negotiate snow and ice. For this caliber of boot, the Chilkats are a great value.

Voted 4/5 | I found these at Campmor for $59.00. The wife and I used these on Quandary Peak with snowshoes. They kept my feet warm and dry and were blister-free. Highly recommend for wet, cold conditions, and perfect with snowshoes.
Downs: Although they say "true to size" on the fit, I thought they were a bit large. Also, they are not very flexible and somewhat clunky. | | Posted Mar 3, 2004 7:25 am | | The Defiant One | Untitled Review | |
Voted 5/5 | Well made, super toasty leather boot for winter. Used snowshoeing and hiking in snow, feet stayed dry and warm.
Watch out: The toe-box is a little wider and taller than other boots of the same size, so though i was blister free, there is some additional impact and foot bruise is possible, but keep this in mind when you try on, and you'll be problem free.
Great solid boot. | | Posted Apr 1, 2005 4:50 am |
